Trip to London

The plane trip went really well. No crying babies, no kids kicking the back of the seat and when you live in Orlando (a.k.a. Disney World ) on most flights...that's the standard! And, as we got smart this time and bought the upgraded seats... plenty of leg room :)

Heathrow Airport is BLOODY huge. (See, we are learning the language already! Ummm, wait,,, they speak Englich here...hahahaha) Not many photo ops today, it all seemed a blur as the taxi driver raced throught the city, but tomorrow we will be touring on an open-top bus so plenty of pics then. London is definately an expensive city and the exchange rate is not in our favor. About 60 pence to the US dollar. Hotel (a bit of a stretch to call it a "hotel" because everything here is extremely small) but is clean, warm, comfortable and very close to the subway station and the train station we are leaving from tomorrow night. As they say.... Location, Location, Location :)

We did get to cross one item off our bucket list today... Enjoyed a lunch of genuine English Fish & Chips. Yes, even tried it with the malt vinegar. Nice little neighborhood place within walking distance of the hotel, local place not touristy... the best way to taste a city. Jim has headed out tonight to in search of tasty morsels for our supper in the room, then off to sleep so we can be up early and get as much of hte city sights in before our train trip to Paris tomorrow.
